First Sri Lankan nominated for a prestigious Hollywood award
A Sri Lankan musician has become the first Sri Lankan nominated for a prestigious Hollywood award. Popular Sri Lankan hip-hop artist and music producer Iraj Weeraratne has been nominated for three awards at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards which will take place in Hollywood, California later this month.
Weeraratne has been nominated in the song and video categories including for the video “Lion nation” which was used as a promotional track for the Sri Lankan cricket team during the last cricket world cup.
