Sugar should not be added to tea served in hotels and restaurants

A circular issued by the Ministry of Health states that sugar should not be added to tea when it is being served in hotels and restaurants.

Thereby owners of hotels and restaurants should allow the customers to add the amount of sugar they desire to the tea that they order.

The Ministry of Health noted that this circular has been issued to all medical health officers as well as public health officers countrywide.

The public health officers have been advised to create awareness on this in their respective zones.

The Ministry of Health points out that the usage of sugar in this manner could minimise diseases such as diabetes.
